Society of St. Vincent de Paul

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is a Catholic lay organization that helps those in need and those living in poverty.  We grow spiritually by offering person-to-person service to people in need.  We see the face of Christ in those we serve as Jesus taught us, “Whatever you do to the least of my brothers and sisters, you do to me.”
 
Currently, this ministry is being served by our parish office at St. Joseph’s through the Good Samaritan program. The parish staff have done an excellent job developing and expanding this program into a very organized and well-run charity for those in need in the Williston area. Because of the program’s success, it is now necessary to have its own separate administration.  For this reason, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul was brought here to transition this service and incorporate the equally important task of sharing Christ’s love through prayer and evangelization to those in need. 
 
Our enduring mission is to meet those in need of our services face to face, either in their homes, in our office, or at a public place. This face to face meeting provides a chance to pray, share experiences, and assess the individual’s or family’s need. 
 
To effectively provide these services, we need more members!  The more members we have, the less work for all involved.  Please take time to consider joining the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.  Even if meeting people in need isn’t something you can see yourself doing, we have lots of different tasks and vital roles to be filled.
  
I would like to take this time to thank all of you for your past and current support of the Good Samaritan program.  It has flourished in our parish and has done remarkable good for those in most need.  We ask that you continue to support the program as we transition to the Society of St Vincent de Paul.
